Marmaris
Marmaris is a natural harbour surrounded by hills, with the entrance guarded by two islands. The town has a resident population of around 15,000 which is boosted five-fold in the summer by tourists.
There is a large (700+ berth) marina here with all mod cons so this is a good place to stop if you are running short of water, diesel, food, electricity or just yearing for your creature comforts.
It is also a great stop if you want a little retail therapy. In the marina itself you will find all the well known brand names for sale, and the old town is a rabbit warren of tiny streets and alleys full of shops, bars and restaurants.
|
However, if you are looking for peace and quiet, bear in mind that the quayside nightclubs can thump away until 4 o'clock in the morning.
