Kekova Roads
Really only in range if you are on a two week charter, Kekova Roads is as spectacular for its archeology as its scenery. The ruins of ancient Simena, founded in the 4th Century B.C., can be found on the island, on the mainland and on the sea bed underneath you as a result of a large eathquake some time in the 2nd Century A.D.
This is also one of the best places to snorkel, although some areas are now off limits.

Since then, a castle was built on the mainland by the Romans and later rebuilt by the Crusaders; another one was built on the island by the Byzantines for protection against pirates in the late Middle Ages; and in amongst all of this sits the little fishing village of Kale, almost inaccessible by road.
The views from the various castles make the walks well worthwhile and some sort of refreshment can usually be found along the way.

There are several competing restaurants in Ucegiz in a bay within the bay and you can get laundry done here too. If time allows, get a taxi from here to see the ruins at Myra.
At the northwestern end of the inlet are the ruins of Aperlae and there is a restaurant here too.
