Kas

View from Kas towards Kastellorizon Kas and its surrounding areas, together with nearby Kekova Island and Kastellorizon is, if time permits, worth spending a few days in.

The surrounding area has a wide choice of bays and beaches and is also very good for swimming, snorkelling and diving.

Amphitheatre at Kas with Kastellorizon in the background Surrounded by mountains, this erstwhile fishing port has become a tourist destination as much for its beautiful bays and beaches as for its archeological significance. It is built on the ruins of Antiphellos, also known as Habessos and Habesa which was of significance in Lycian, Roman and Byzantine times.

The tourist influx has seen to it that the town is lively with some good bars and restaurants (we especially like "Chez Evy") and several nightclubs.
