Datca
The town of Datca is a holiday resort popular mainly with the Turks and is, as yet, unspoilt by large hotel complexes catering for the mass market. The main town, about a mile inland, is not particlularly attractive but can be a good place for a bargain if you are looking for rugs, carpets or jewelry.
From here we can get the necessary documentation to check out of Turkey and head for the Greek islands.

The picturesque harbour, with its whitewashed buildings and bougainvillaea, is full of bars and restaurants and very lively, even into the small hours. Recent regulations are meant to ensure that the music ends at midnight but, since not everyone seems to know this, it might be better to anchor in Kargi Koyu, 1.5 miles to the south, if you are after peace and quiet.
If you are runing out of time to get to Knidos, it is worth getting a taxi from here and making a day of it.
