Bozukkale and Serce

Bozukkale

Bozukkale (or Bozuk Buku) Bozukkale (or Bozuk Buku) is a fairly large inlet to the southern end of the Kara peninsula. The entrance to the bay is guarded by an ancient, ruined citadel, from which you can get some spectacular views.

There are a number of restaurants in the bay which makes it a good overnight stop. In the hills above the bay are the ruins of the city of Loryma, although it is an hour's walk to get to them.

The Colossus, at nearby Rhodes, was built to celebrate the defeat of Antigonus' invasion force in 305 B.C. It was in Bozukkale Bay that the invasion fleet was assembled.

Serce

Serce inlet An alternative stopover to Bozukkale is Serce (see the picture to the left), a smaller inlet just a few miles to the East. Serce also has a couple of restaurants.
Possible same day destinations from Bozukkale or Serce are:

Westwards

Eastwards
