Chalki and Alimia
Chalki
Chalki (also spelt Khalki, Halki and Xalki) is a small but mountainous island to the West of Rhodes. The main town is a delight to the eye with pastel houses rising from the water's edge and there are some fine tavernas on the waterfront.
Although only a short sail from Rhodes and served by a ferry from Scala Kamirou, it is off the beaten track and makes a nice change of pace from Rhodes Town and Lindos.

Alimia
Although this horseshoe shaped island forms a natural harbour, it has been uninhabited since the 1960s. As such, it makes a perfect place to stop for lunch, swim, snorkel or or laze away an afternoon before the a short hop to Chalki or Scala Kamirou for the night. For those with the energy, the 45 minute walk up to the ruined Crusader fort is worth it for the magnificent view it gives of Rhodes and the surrounding islets.
